A filter bubble is a result of a personalized search in which a website algorithm selectively guesses what information a user would like to see based on information about the user (such as location, past click behavior and search history) and, as a result, users become separated from information that disagrees with their viewpoints, effectively isolating them in their own cultural or ideological bubbles.
A series of visual experiments explores the concept of the filter bubble from a perspective that is detached from a specific time in history or place in the world. To give the concept a sense of universality and timeless value, I imagined a series of unrealistic situations with the purpose of stimulating the viewer over the themes of time, knowledge and conficting opinions.
These artworks are part of an MA project in Graphic Design at Arts University Bournemouth.
